Feel free to forward this to anyone, anywhere, with love and best wishes for a wonderful Christmas season and a prosperous and healthy 2010.
On the first day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to relax for 1 hour before going to bed – without TV or computer screens. I’ll sleep better if my brain hasn’t been racing full-tilt right up until I fall into bed.
On the second day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to eat 2 pieces of regionally growable fruit each day.
On the third day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to eat 3 smallish meals and 3 protein-based snacks each day.
On the fourth day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to take 4 short breaks throughout my work day – get up from my desk, walk around, move my body!
On the fifth day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to get 5 good physical workouts each week – at least 30 minutes, anything I enjoy and will continue to do.
On the sixth day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to list 6 things I am grateful for, without repeating any in one week.
On the seventh day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to eat 7 servings of veggies every day.
On the eighth day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to get 8 hours of sleep, regardless of how busy I think I am. I’ll accomplish more if I am well-rested.
On the ninth day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to drink 9 glasses of good, pure water every day – well, actually, she said ½ oz of water for every pound of bodyweight – but 9 glasses is a good ballpark number for most adults between 130 – 170 pounds.
On the tenth day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to give 10 positive, kind, uplifting, words to someone else. This is ‘paying it forward’ and ‘the gift that truly keeps on giving’.
On the eleventh day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to take time to do 11 yoga or pilates poses to gently stretch my body and relax my brain.
On the twelfth day of Christmas my natural health coach taught me to make appointments for 12 massages throughout the year. Everyone needs a little pampering once in awhile.
