We've just finished with Christmas - rich food (and lots of it), chocolate, and for many people, lots of Christmas parties with alcohol, pop, and high-sugar treats.

When it's summer here in Calgary it really means it's time for the Calgary Stampede which really means 10 days of free breakfasts provided by lots of local businesses. The usual menu is white flour pancakes, brown sugar syrup, margarine, pork sausages, and orange drink made from powder. Yumm! Lunchtimes are known to drag out for 2 - 3 hours with the blessings of the boss during the ten days of Stampede, and it's very common for them to include more liquid (aka beer) than solid food.
